本交流会将研究如何通过基于行业标准的技术（如Session Initiation Protocol（SIP）、SIP servlets、Telecom Web Services和IP Multimedia Subsystem（IMS））将Internet和Communications服务聚合在一起。我们还将讨论聚合服务层的重要架构性问题；在聚合服务层，聚合HTTP-SIP应用程序服务器（如BEA WebLogic SIP Server）为新聚合的Internet-communication服务提供核心服务的创建，交付和管理基础。
